All-on-4 or All-on-6 in Turkey: what UK patients should compare

Full-arch options: Describe your concern → Discuss the options → Clarify the scope → Agree the next step
A consultation preparation diagram, not a clinical outcome.

Comparing All-on-4 and All-on-6 is not simply comparing the price of four implants with six. The planned arch, prosthesis, anatomy, implant distribution and maintenance all belong in the discussion. Before choosing a package, ask what the complete proposal would mean for your mouth and your travel arrangements.

Begin with the intended prosthesis

Ask whether the proposal covers the upper jaw, lower jaw or both. Have the temporary and definitive restorations identified separately. If natural teeth remain, request an explanation of their individual outlook before treating a full-arch package as a reason for extraction.

ITI consensus recommendations connect implant number with prosthetic planning, available anatomy, distribution and hygiene access. A universal rule that more is always better, or that four suits everyone, is not a personal treatment plan. ITI recommendations on complete-arch fixed prostheses.

Read the proposals through six decisions

DecisionAsk the clinician to explain
Existing teethWhich can be considered for retention?
ArchWhy is this approach proposed for this particular jaw?
RestorationWhat design and material are included?
Implant distributionHow does the proposed arrangement support the plan?
Interim phaseWhat happens if the first-choice provisional is unsuitable?
MaintenanceHow will cleaning, review and possible repairs work?

These questions help you understand the recommendation without trying to select an implant layout yourself. A similar-looking example on social media does not establish the same clinical conditions in your mouth.

Fixed does not automatically mean definitive

Ask what will be present when you leave Istanbul after the first visit. The word “fixed” alone does not tell you whether a restoration is provisional or definitive. Obtain a clear description of subsequent appointments and the checks needed before later stages.

Early loading depends on clinical conditions, including initial stability. Your return flight cannot establish those conditions. ADI explanation of loading timing.

Compare a complete budget in pounds

Match the arch count, restoration endpoint, preparatory work and reviews before comparing converted totals. Ask for the actual billing currency and the validity of any estimate. A pound figure might be a conversion rather than a fixed sterling quote.

Keep travel, accommodation and possible return visits outside the treatment column so you can see both totals. Ask how additional findings would be discussed and approved. This guide provides no universal saving percentage because two package names do not establish equivalent care.

Agree the route for questions after returning home

Record who will respond, which visits require your presence and what records you receive. Discuss any planned local support with your UK dentist first. Avoid assuming that a commercial warranty guarantees clinical success or pays for every extra journey.

The useful outcome of a consultation is a reasoned proposal, not merely a chosen number. If the recommendation remains unclear, ask for clarification or another opinion before committing to irreversible treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Does six automatically produce a better result than four?

No individual conclusion follows from the count alone. Ask how the proposed number, distribution and prosthesis relate to your findings.

Will the upper and lower jaw need the same arrangement?

Not necessarily. Request a separate explanation for each arch rather than copying one proposal onto the other.

Are permanent teeth always delivered on the first trip?

Do not assume that. Ask for the distinction between provisional and definitive work and the conditions for progressing between stages.
